A real estate agent in London "Location Location" has launched a .mobi site :

locationlocation.mobi

It's the mobile version of the main site locationlocation.com

Interesting to see more and more companies with 2 or 3 sites (.com, .mobi and/or .tv) as part of their online strategy.

The company behind this has built other sites for other real estate agents.

- ludlow.mobi

- inzo.mobi

- nextmove.mobi

A lot of companies seem to just use m. Infront as a sub domain instead of .mobi for the mobile version of there site, is this a better option than trying to secure .mobi?

No, not necessarily a better option, just a different option. (That debate has been covered ad nauseum in this forum.)

But using "m." prefix is especially not cool if your full sized PC site happens to be something like "erde.com" or "erde.fr" ... then your visitors just might end up with a shi**y mobile experience. :D

This is very cool stuff.... it's the company behind the development that often sells the idea to the end users...

I just renewed 30 of my .mobi real estate domains. It was kind of a tough decision since both .mobi and real estate are both pretty soft right now.

I hope more companies catch on to the idea of mobile version websites regardless of whether they use .mobi or the m prefix because I use my blackberry a lot now to surf the web and a lot of sites are so hard to navigate or don't even load properly. It would be a real pain to try and view a standard real estate site on a mobile device if you were out looking at properties or checking out some auctions. We need more websites that support the mobile internet trend.
