Ranking the best extensions based on traffic potential

My preferences, based mostly on likelihood of getting traffic & typeins

1 .com
2 .org

Above 2 are far and away #1 and #2 with the others lagging well behind near the edge of the radar screen by comparison. The bottom 2 are even farther behind and barely on the radar screen at all.

3 .us
4 .net
5 .info
6 .biz

7. tv
8. ws

Other opinions are welcome of course.

The Big Three are still the best. COM/NET/ORG

.COM is King. NET/ORG are about even when appropriate.

Ranking .NET behind .US is ridiculous. Look at all the high dollar .NET sales on NameBio.com

.NET has the second most domains regged by a wide margin also.

As mentioned, my rankings were *not* based on sales (or registrations) but based heavily on what I believe is the proven ability to generate typein traffic.

There is really no contest betwee org and net because dot-org generates far more typeins than .net by a huge margin. Even .us can have more typeins than .net, especially in niche categories.

IMO, org can rival com in typeins in specific categories, i.e. health, educational, kids sites, political, and govt for example.

So far I haven't do a type in on other extension beside .com.
I don't see the reason people doing type in on .us or .biz or .info
People type .com only most of the time.

However, unlike .net, dot-org url's are advertised a lot in the media, especially on TV (public radio too). I am sure the public hears org url's mentioned more than all the other extensions (except com) combined. As a result, they tend to use org for typeins second overall to .com, especially in certain categories.

Depends on country (and if you want to specify niche).
Here in Germany there are lot of 'gambling' ... online poker ads for .NET
