Jeff, originally I was posting value based on what I thought those domains would sell today. Then equity corrected me and asked what would I pay for the domains.

Seoul.TV is worthless to me. I meant to put $0, not $2.

I couldn't make any money if I launched this domain as a business because I don't know the Korean market. I have zero advertisers in Korea. I'm not even sure leads would work in Korea. My sister in law is Korean. My brother in law lived in Seoul for 10 years. I'm sure it is a lovely city, but I've never visited and don't know the dynamics of that market.

Therefore (how much would I pay) for Seoul.TV - $0.

PestControl.TV is worth 3000X TO ME than Seoul.TV (because I can't make money on Seoul.TV)

I would assume, if we had a person on this board from Terminix, Orkin, Western Pest, NPMA, or a local pest control company - they would have the same prospective that PestControl.TV is worth to them than Seoul.TV.

I get your point Local but that would be saying everyone buying domains is buying on what they can make with the name and nothing investment wise, I would imagine if someone said to you, "Local I need $500 quick I will sell you Seoul.tv" you would take it knowing you could resell in the market. SO no you would not have spent $5000 in risk as an investment but I think I know you pretty well you would have took a flier on $500.

Ray is the valuation based on what the market values a domain or what I value a domain. You corrected me last night for not using what I would basis as the basis for valuation.

Two years ago, I would have paid $500 for Seoul.TV. Absolutely. Today. No.

Once again, I know the domain has value. The domain does not have value to my business and would be a major distraction as other stockholders (ie Joe) would call me every week and ask why in the he__ did I buy Seoul.TV when we don't generate leads in Seoul.

My shareholders and I get into one fight each month over DOT TV. Two years ago, DOT TV was viewed as having value. Today, they have changed their mind and has pleaded for me to sell every DOT TV domain because they view StLouis.TV, MyrtleBeach.TV, Charlotte.TV, Indianapolis.TV - as worthless.

And now Snoop is not one of our shareholders.

But good answer 0 is fine its what you would pay, you cannot be wrong saying that. Its all about each person, we have seen the wide disparity including the fact not subjective FACT that most of these names sold for a lot more.

Yep and the other 2 believe we live in a DOT COM world and can be rather annoying expressing their viewpoint.

BTW PestControl.TV is more revelvant to our business. People searching for Pests could be searching for pests for a school project.

Jeff this is an exercise to see what peoples values and personal opinions are. A look into the psyche of members here. The market has spoken, Business Channel.tv for example sold for $10,000 so this thread is not determining the value of BusinessChannel.tv the market did that. Its just peoples personal opinion here.

Which comes back to my statement that Seoul.TV is a nice domain, its just worthless to me. PestControl.TV - while worthless to 99.99999 of the population - has value for me.
