Random Blog

Hey,

How successful would a "random blog" be? I'm sure they already have these, but just a blog that posts random - but legitimate and not nonsense material (ya know, interesting stuff, but different topics each day, ranging from pets to tech to jokes to collectables to graphics, etc) - stuff... would people come back to read it?

Could some posts periodically be used as ads (but don't seem like it)? Would it generate $$$?

Thanks for your time,
-Matt

I dunno...there's so many blogs out there already, probably someone has already done it

Most personal blogs would probably fall in to this category already...

Hm, thanks...

I've set it up at www.veblo.com - let me know. I know the design has a lot of problems and needs to be more exciting, but remember: the concept is what matters here.

I really don't think blogs are making as much as they used to. They have been overdone in my honest opinion.

True, but the really good ones still manage to shine through

But it is hard to get one to the top. If you are looking for something that is easy to do and you want to make a lot of money off of it the blog is not the way to go.

There is no alternative.
If you are looking for something that is easy and you will make a lot of money off it then go to sleep and start dreaming. This is the real world and there are no free rides.

If you want to make money be prepared to work for it.

one thing i do know as ive first used blogs blaster in which is not actually a blog blaster that blasts ads in form of blog ( or disguised as a blog) but still not a blog but a "comment spam"

http://www.blogd.com/archives/001431.html
http://blog.centresource.com/2005/08/28/tracking-down-the-source-of-referrer-spam/
http://netmarketingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4446

im still using it for the fact that it boosts outside/back links to my site but it's not a blog but a comment. usually started out blasting blogspot but now blogspot has comment spam protection and you can enable/disable comment spam so what's the use?

HHDomains: There are alternatives... your statements are completely wrong. Take a look at digg and the MDHP... those are great ideas that got popular really fast.

I'm not saying this would be as successful but I want it to generate SOME revenue.

Thanks for the advice, weblord :) I'll look into it.

CompuXP means that there are alternatives to gaining free ads or free exposures on the internet. and I agree too of which blog (reality blog comment blasting - done right) and .xml pinging is another one. of course you won't need to neglect those usual ways we do exposures for our web sites such as helping people on forums and you end up getting considered or hired for a project - based on my experience. :imho:

Agreed, your blog will not get popular if your primary goal is to make money from it

Okay, so maybe I don't want to make $$$ but want to get traffic. Possible then?
