hairp.in would't be easy to remember and hairpin.in would be ok. Ofet mislead to typos.

They look awful to me, but what do I know? Yahoo just added http://del.icio.us/ to their network. :)

I think our meanings of a hacked domain are totally different your definition I think they looked dumb and are completely useless to an end user I dont think to many people will understand hairp.in if the owner were to advertise say on radio or some other method of spoken word.

My definition of a hacked domain Is WRONG WRONG WRONG A hacked domain is defined as a stolen or other way manipulated from the original owners possession, Stealing domains is illegal and a bad thing to do. Since I have become a member of DNOA I advocate this policy it is bad i say very bad and I would never do something like that. I am a proud hacker with some notority behind me and again I must say that hacking and stealing domains is wrong. I would never be caught hacking or stealing a domain because I know it is wrong!!!!!

Hi and Glad ya brought that up.
You are wrong tho about what the meaning of what a Hacked Domain is..
Hacked is not being used as a term for breaking and entering so so speak
The Link on the bottom of this post will explain them..

And just wonder what using a word like Hairpin or Sloegin is stealing
something? They are mearly words in the dictionary.
Who would you be stealing the word inter.net from?
No one owns the internet.
How about Blogs? blo.gs
Basically a Hacked domain is mearly using the Domain and
the extension or TLD to form a word or meaning.
Some use 2 extensions like Rare.co.in or
RareCoin, WHO is that
hurting??
Or this is also a hacked domain as the .us works with the domain.
webtipsfrom.us or WebTipsFromUs

Check out the domain meaning of hacked below..

I generally don't think they add value if they don't have meaning before the dot to some extent. However, if they also have meaning without the extension I think they can be a plus. I only have one that I can think of, which is PleaseCall.Us

Others that make some sense with and without the extension can such as the following won't confuse people who don't understand the "pun" aspect.

fishing.net for fishing nets
Help.Us
tele.com telecommunications
phonenumbers.info for directory information (one reason .info is so versatile)
show.biz
sell.it

I agree with you completely, there needs to be some meaning before the extension. Partial words look strange, and are hard to remember, such as hairp.in.

Thinks everyone has a Domain Hack with a Dot.us that has a meaning without the TLD..
I've had the 2 below For awhile,
uasked.us
webtipsfrom.us

But I did pick up the Bluef.in recently..
as the new Bluefin super chip get super SE traffic
and they don't recognize the . at times.
Also picked up Bluefin.be because it was free and couldn't hurt.
