Question regarding forwarders and Pagerank..

Say I have a website selling widgets say jimmyswidgets.com and say I buy a domain that (jimswidgets.com) which was previosuly developed and has Pagerank and backlinks.. If I jsut URL forward jimswidgets.com to jimmyswidgets.com will Google look at all the links to jimswidgets.com as links to my main site jimmyswidgets.com? say jimswidgets.com has a pagerank 2 and jimmyswidgets.com does not, will that help jimmyswidgets.com?

If a site/page have backlinks/PR then a 301 redirect will most probably pass the PR/link juice to the other site: however, I have seen Matt Cutts mentioning that, there is no guarantee that Google will always pass all or any PR/Link juice for 301 redirect. So we cannot be 100% sure about it.
