PageRank Update 09/29

A huge pagerank update has just started!

You may check your new pagerank on diferent datacenters by using tools like:

www.tabu.com/seo/pr/

right now google is still "dancing" ...
at this time, only around 5 datacenters are updated...


What's your old pagerank and what's your new pagerank?! What do you think about this pagerank?!
My www.softgroups.com went from a Pagerank of 4 to a Pagerank o 6 and i am feeliiing so gooooooooooooooooooooooood

well only one of my sites showing a PR changing and even its still changing some data centers show its current PR which is 1 and others show PR 3.

I hope it is still updating becuase one of my sites doesn't have any pr yet. Showed as a 3 on one of the datacenters yesterday but no it is 0 again in all. My pr4 site is showing as pr4 for most datacenters, some changed to pr1 and pr3. Hope the site doesn't go down, since it gets steady traffic.

I don't think this was mentioned in the thread.

With this update Google used data from late July (discussed in detail on another forum).

So that means if your site is new August - September or if you spent those two months building backlinks (like me) you likely didn't see any PR increase. Usually Google uses data that is 4-6 weeks old not two months old.

Also note that PR is always being updated BUT Google only exports that data every three month or so (see schedule of PR updates posted earlier).

So the key thing is keep building everyday don't think (like I did) that one big push will provide the PR that you want. I knew the update was going to happen I just did all the backlink work to lte. I'll benefit the next PR update (hopefully).

Same here, i just started building backlinks about few weeks ago and my PR is predicted to go at 5, so hopefully at next update, My PR will be 5. And meantime, im still buying more backlinks...The more the better.

For my topsite, half of the datacenters still say pr4 and half say pr0. My backlinks have doubled since last update. I have 3,455, so I don't think I have a pr0.

They are not the same.
address-com is a domain and www.address-com is a subdomain of address-com.

You should create (on Apache servers) a .htaccess file with something like:
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^somedomain.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.somedomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]

and upload it to your domain root directory. This is in essence redirecting somedomain.com to www.somedomain.com and the spiders only see the www... and the www will inherit all incoming links and PR.

Just as the job isn't complete until the paperwork is done no site should be taken live without this little trick unless there is a very good reason.

How come on some of my sites google shows a pr but
the pr checkers on the sites still show 0? Do they take longer to update those?
