Google PageRank Chart Accuracy?

I was doing some research and have found a rather wide array
of charts explaining supposed results of Google PageRank and how
many "Backlinks" are required from low or high page rank websites.

This chart in reference is below (I am not trying to help this link out and do not own this website)

This person states that if I have one single PR - 8 backlink, that I can potentially have a Page Rank of 8 in return.


Others state that Google PageRank is based from an 85% ratio where as one backlink at a page rank of 8 would then make your website 85% of it's PageRank which would essentially be like a page rank of 7.

I know the stigma of PageRank and I really don't buy into this fully but, I definitely need to start involving myself in more of it's studies, considering it's popularity and supposed power.

Google has never released any information to my knowledge about this, so it's all speculation based on questionable research. That chart you linked to actually states that you would need an estimated 18 PR8 links (would of course vary depending on the number of links on the PR8 page, if they're flowing pagerank, etc) to become a PR8 which really wouldn't surprise me, seeing how few PR8 websites there are around. Most of these assumptions are based on the original pagerank formula which applied a damping factor believed to be of 0.85. It was much more complicated than that when PageRank was invented and far more complicated than that now.

Having not more idea related to latest news.

But as i know that google give weight to backlinks from related websites.

If you have one backlinks from PR-8 then you can get PR juice but can not get PR8 by help of a single link.

I personally think that no one really knows how PR is calculated except for Google. I think any assumptions about PR calculation will not give any accurate data.

All i know is about backlinks, i know that by getting good backlinks, i can improve my PR, nothing more than that and nothing about google PR system.
