question re: private contest

Hello,

I'd like to hold a logo design contest here, but I'd like it to be private i.e. have the thread visible to members only. Is that possible or would I have to host the contest offsite? If I have to host it offsite would it be permissible to link to the contest from a thread here? The sub-forum charter/faq doesn't address these issues. Oh and in case you're wondering why I'd like to go down the private route it's merely that I don't want people to be able to find my site in search engines for logo design contests and to know how much I paid for the logo etc.

Anyway the contest would be a logo for a science based site, a very slight variation on the logo for the forum part of the site and a matching favicon. I'd have $50 to budget for this and I'd like to have the contest wrapped up before next weekend if possible.

If this is not technically possible, (perhaps the forum software isn't capable of it or whatever), would all participants in any such competition agree to edit their posts and clear them after the contest winner has been announced?

Just hold your contest normally, then PM another mod to move the thread to a non-public area (like the PM-to-Staff) once the contest is over.
