Question for those who buy expired/deleted domains

I was wondering if anyone who buys deleted domains on a regular basis could offer some advice about how they choose a domain to bid on...

For example, I am considering a domain that deletes today, it is nice and short, a 6 letter .com

This particular domain used to be a website, the last entry from WayBack Machine is dated Sept. 2004...

The site still comes up in alexa, but no ranking, it still says two sites link to it...

So, generally speaking is this the sort of domain that might be worth the minimum $60 cost, or more, obviously, if it goes to auction? I know it is hard to judge based on this and without knowing the domain, but just generally, are the criteria outlined above the sort of things you consider when bidding on a deleted domain?

Thanks~

I would check the link popularity, pagerank, alexa ranking, and the wayback machine. You already did two of those steps, I would recommend the others. I usually don't feel like wasting my money with big expiration companies. I usually just use GoDaddy, which had a fee of around $20 I think. I don't know if they still do though.

Good luck!
