Whats also good is that info means the same thing is so many languages that is perhaps more easily understood worldwide than .com or .org and certainly more than .net or .name
I guess it depends on what the domain is, that is if it suits the extension. If the domain is going to be used for an informational site then a .info domain is great.
I love .info's for Informational Minisites
and the often bargain basement price is a bonus ,not a hindrance

Several Australian Federal and State Government departments are registering (often at a Premium price of over $30 a year) .info domains instead of the Free (to them) .Gov.au domains.
Its might not be worth selling the domain but u can make good money by turning them into minisites earning thru some PPC. Good keyword domain sometimes really come up in search engines.
