I have a question regarding reg. domain names based on the terms overture count.

Is it an automatic buy if a name has a high overture search number minus the extension.

I have found a phrase that has a high overture count without an extension, but doesn't have any counts with the extension.

Is there any advantage to reg. that phrase versus just having a site with meta tags that reference that phrase.

Thanks in advance,
Sting

The value of a domain name would depend on the specific phrase. Generally, if the term alone brings overture numbers of ~ 1000/month, that would be a .com I'd consider registering. Now, the numbers can vary...there can be multiple representations of the same term listed, such as wine bottle, wine club, wine deals, etc... You might try putting the term in quotes and see the results that way.
Be sure you do your homework & compare the results to other similar names that might already be taken.

That and don't forget that overture w/ extenstion can still be faked by those who would seek to defraud you. A high overture by itself is not sufficient to signal a "buy", IMHO.
