Question about info promo prices

I have a question about .info promo prices. As you are aware they apply to the first year of registration only. Suppose I have a .info domain that is about to expire. IF I renew it I will have to pay the full non-promo price. But what if I delete it and register it anew? Assuming nobody else grabs it in the few seconds its in the wild, will I be able to register it at the promo price?

Generally only new .info's are at promo prices. So if it was deleted and rebought it would be a new registration. As you said you do run the risk of loosing it. Personal point of view is to pay the renewal price or transfer to a good but cheaper cost register (depending on your situation).

There are also various registars who have coupon codes that cover .info's renewals. Sometimes the coupons will be 10% or a $1 off.

Also like said, there is a good chance of losing it you let it totally expire and try to pick it up again.
