As I write this, Christmas Day is still 10 days away but it seems Santa paid an early visit to the domain industry this week. Four lucky domain sellers found shiny six-figure financial packages under their tree. When you add them all up over $1 million changed hands in those four deals that lead our latest weekly Top 20 Sales Chart. Yuo can get all of the details here:

I believe dnjournal has seen its heyday. I know of several high dollar gTLD sales not reported by dnjournal. Not the fault of dnjournal, because not all sales are reported to dnjournal. Also, dnjournal continues to publish sales results by Snapnames, as if Snapnames can be considered credible. Remember, Snapnames is probably the largest admitted domain auction fraudster in domain history, admitting to massive shill bidding in thousands of auctions from 2005 thru 2009. But dnjournal still reports their reported sales as though they are credible. That's a real knee-slapper! In all fairness to Ron Jackson, the domain industry is so full of fraudsters and suckers, it would be hard to fill a domain news website with articles about nothing but honest participants. I believe Ron knows this, but doesn't much care.

The problem with Snapnames issue and dnjournal

The problem with the whole Snapnames shill bidding was not that the sales never happened its just that we ended up paying to much for those domains. I know I got jacked for a few dollars when I should have only paid $60. And no I've never used snapnames again since the whole shill bidding exposure, I don't trust them.

I think Ron tries his hardest to weed out all the BS but his ability to see all transactions is limited by what information he's getting and its sources. I really want his information to reflect what is truly happening in the industry.

Is there anyone in this industry that you don't have issues with?

Maybe you should report the sales instead of starting the insults and usual tantrum about Snapnames, (which has nothing to do about this thread content anyway).

Yes, there are players in the domain industry I do not have issues with. When companies and individuals auction honestly, their results should be considered honest news. Scumbags and admitted auction fraudsters proffering their latest auction results should be eyed with skepticism, and IMHO it's "news" when they are egregiously given credibility by domain "news" sites.

Thus far, I recognize Snapnames and Godaddy as having history of auction shill-bidding. And I don't like you much either, Snoop. I'm not fond of Monte Cahn, and I think Neustar spews lies. That's about it. I think Adam Dicker is a dickhead and severely ethically-challenged.

To answer your question, I don't have issues with Namepros, John Berryhill, ICANNWatch.org, Judith Oppenheimer, and many wonderful domain traders here and at other forums. But I certainly don't like you, Snoop.

I think it's generally good information for us to have access to & review published reported sales, though there is no doubt that not all of these sales are always legit ... and I do think it's fair to consider the source (ie., originating from Snapnames, GoDaddy, Greatdomains, among others), IMHO. :gl:

That being said, I always look forward to the story or negotiations "behind the scenes"; ie., how a domainer successfully approached an End user and then successfully negotiated and transfered a domain name through escrow to an entity that has definitive plans to develop the domain to a compelling website (historically, it seems to me that so few "reported sales" end up being purchased and then developed in this manner)! :gl: :imho:

Thanks for the posts, and Happy Holidays! :santa:
