Pushing a Name...Buyers Think They Know Better

This is one of those more relaxed threads, but I just completed a domain transaction where once again, the buyer knew better than me, who owned the domain. He knew, from looking at the WHOIS, that the domain was registered with Enom and not Namecheap and proceeded to let me know that. I've even had others in the past argue me for two or three PMs. I guess what always makes it so funny is these people generally are educated domainers.

Anyone else run into this or am I the only one?

Never run into this problem...And whenever I buy, I'm much too dumb to check the WHOIS :p

I feel your pain, Denver.

I encounter it all the time, because NameCheap, RegisterFly (before they became ICANN accredited) and other eNom resellers do not normally show up in the whois report. People see eNom listed as the registrar and they just assume...

I've never had the problem but hey... as long as they buy it in the end for a fair price.. that's fine with me if they wanna chat for a minute first:)

It happens more than you would think ;)

I've encountered it with people who have been in this industry longer than me , But you have to realize that a lot of these older Domainers stick with only a few of the main companies as a whole and may have never heard of resellers using WWD / or the Enom API. Oh well , Live and Learn ;)
