US domainers, dont sleep on the UK. These guys are good end users. Sold a nice one. Paypal cleared.

Here's how it went down. I pitched a nice .net to a .co.uk company, and they got back with me. Here was the reply prior to my pushing this name that I just registered to them.

"Thank you for your email. Having discussed it, we feel the although the domain does not have a great deal of direct commercial value to us, it would be better in our hands than somebody else's. Consequently we would be prepared to offer £5250.

They sent the funds, and I'm happy.

Not a bad Sunday. Even though a shot out nearly 300 emails to get it done.

Thanks for sharing. I never sold to UK or European end-users before. Just wonder did you put an asking price on your initial letter? Or they just offered £5250 when they responded?

Just try to find out if there are cultural differences between US and UK end-users when approaching them cold. Congrats on the nice offer!!

It seems peculiar to me that the offer they made was 5250...

Why not rounded out at 5000?

Congrats on the sale!!! I was just curious if you could reveal without disclosing the domain if this was a highly-searched word or if it just happened to be a great match for this particular company. Also, how did you identify 300 potential buyers particularly for a .net? It seems like that would take a considerable amount of time.

What type of industry where they in?

Nice sale, can we have a bit more info on the domain without telling us what it is??

Congrats, great going for a .net - I don't think I have ever seen a .net advertised in Britain before......ever !

Did you state an initial asking price and that was their counter ?

Congrats.
How do you find email address from .co.uk whois?
Or, did you use phone?

Found buyer via Contact Us on webpage. Called them after they "countered" my asking price in the initial email to
let them know I was not a scammer and I meant business. My asking price was high, I asked $85k. The domain was Home related, they own the .com and all extensions were taken.

I always ask "outrageous" prices in my emails now. Especially if I need or want to keep the domain if it doesn't sell.

Yes it was a recently registered name. I also want to give a big shoutout to Elliot at ElliotsBlog.com. I've been
working his template found here, Simple Sample Email to an End User | Elliot's Blog.
Tweaking it to fit my particular domain. I also have my own templates that work just fine, as well as other pros
like Giode, Bmugford, Joshua's etc.

I gotta couple bucks for ya Elliot if you're interested, lol.

nice catch, copper... the convoluted sentence threw me off i guess lol and i was unwilling to believe that it was, indeed, just registered. an extra-fine job then on the sale!

Congrats on the excellent sale.

All it takes is a little effort. Many domainers just push excellent domains to SEDO and have no idea how much money they are leaving on the table by not contacting end users.

You gotta take the risks. Since that sale, I've gotten 3 replies regarding the same domain. They're kinda funny
and graphic.

"Take your asking price, write it down on a piece of paper, then take that paper and stuff it into your colon! "

"You make that number up?"

"My domain is much better! realize bitch!"

Congrats! Feel free to drop a comment on my blog to let others know about your success and how you tweaked your email.

If you see someone on the street who looks like they could use a bite to eat, use my couple bucks to buy them a sandwich :)
