What's the deal with publishing someone's blog feeds on a website of mine, in which I identity the originating blog, and have the article title link click through to the originator's website, to the full blog of which I just published the excerpt? I am not trying to deceive anyone that it is my article.

Gawd, it seems like people would appreciate all the free traffic they get from me, but I just had a complainer.

I don't think there has been a case yet regarding this issue, I have heard many different version from different sources. Right now it seems like it is commonly accepted to republish rss feeds with a sourcelink. While legality may not be an issue some hosts may shut you down if somebody starts complaining about copyright infringement.

I think its a major grey area. The entire point of RSS is for SYNDICATION... But the creator still holds the copyright, so I imagine if they decide that they don't want a particular site to publish their blog (for whatever reason), they have the right to do so. However, if you aren't publishing the entire blog, just a small exerpt, with credit and link, you should be perfectly within your legal rights under copyright fair use to do so.
