Well proxies are a major thing on the internet.
I'm personally just starting out and want to try earn afew bucks per day.
Namepros doesn't really have any threads i've found that help out proxy owners/ newbies.
I myself am a newbie aswell. I'm still learning alot but have picked up afew ideas and such to keep it alive.

#1 Putting your words like Proxy/Bypass/Filter into a image so that it cannot be picked up if any schools have programs that read pages. (my school has this feature)

I haven't got really anymore to add but i hope members can contribute.
People who are experienced with proxies or have any tips/tricks please post them here to help out others, I may Sticky this thread and reward NP$ to people who help out :tu:

Proxy Traffic

I recently aquired www.FunkyProxy.com and I am finding that most of the traffic is Chinese. Adsense seems to convert some of the traffic, but until there is a good way to monetize the chinese traffic, I am stuck getting huge traffic and a relatively small conversion.

i just block all chinese traffic because of the fact that most of them do not know English and my adsense account is too precious for me to get banned like that just for a few cents of earnings

A proxy is a website which people use to bypass software that block their internet access. Imagine yourself at college trying to browse Myspace, facebook etc. Most likely they will be blocked. So you can visit a proxy site and visit these websites through this proxy. A beginner's guide to the proxy business can be found on Kiloserve Proxy Hosting Blog

All I can say.. is make you have a Dedicated Server if you plan on having multiple proxies.. and yes also.. DONT ever use the word Prox or Proxy in a domain.. i learned that the hard way hehe...

Why is it bad to use Prox or Proxy in the domain name?

The webfilters that your users are trying to avoid will usually scan the domains they visit for keywords so they know whether to block it or not. Proxy or prox tends to be one of the first things they put on this list.

abdussamad, I suggets HagioHost.com, see this thread, and riley. Using words like proxy, unfilter and bypass are bad because automatic filters pick up on these words in domains and filter them.

Thats why for my proxy network I chose NeeJ, TeeJ & ZeeJ. All similar, but no autofilter will pick them up because of the domains.

Great articles! Can i ask whats the best keywords to put into the proxy html to be found? I want to start a proxy site but your saying that we shouldnt put proxy and bypass etc. as a keyword.

It's advisable not to use the word proxy, prox or similar in the domain name. As far as the HTML of the proxy page you should be creative in your text so that asdense picks up good paying keywords. For example, instead of writing a plain:

this is a web proxy that you can use to browse orkut, myspace facebook and any website you want

write something like

does your network administrator block your internet access using special software? If yes then you can keep browsing the net, playing games, entertaining yourself and continuing your normal internet activities using our new web proxy. You can browse anonymously any website....

You see what I mean?

Adbright on proxied pages

I've put adbright banners on my proxied pages. A top banner shows at the top of the page in Phproxy.

I don't think there's a solution to this. What I've noticed is that new proxies bring in good earning for a few days and then they get smart-priced. You might want to consider selling your proxies and starting new ones.

I have a suggestion. If only one proxy site in your network is smart priced then try and encourage your visitors to use your other proxies that pay higher.

You dont want to be on the first page of google for the keyword proxy! That is how your proxy will get blocked faster. Most of the traffic should be coming directly to your proxy (e.g. bookmarked) or through links

So does having the word Proxy even once in your page trip off filters? or does it have to be reapeated several times? Or is just for domains names and title tags??

I'm very interested in this becuase Last week I made a quite a bit of money off my proxy Topsite alone from several hundred visitors for those 5 work days, and tommoro is the start of new school and work day...(monday)

But I think there more traffic there alot of them can't get threw becuase I have "proxy" in my title tags for SEO.


I think it would helpfull if someon could put a link to a article on how school Filter systems work to better understand it.
