Proxies

I was wondering if there was actually any host that could handle proxy's being used around 900 times a day with CGIProxy or PHProxy. I had a site before and I went through 3 hosts and all of the systems didn't have enough resources. I basically lost more money than I earned, so I was pretty angry.

Does anyone know anything about this or has had the same problem?

yeah for paid public proxies most probably but for free proxies i doubt it could handle that kind of requests.

900/24 = 37.5 times a hour. I would say either a VPS or a normal reseller or Shared hosting account would be good on a lowly populated server. Since Proxy websites are high CPU Users. I would suggest a VPS plan.

ipv6 hosting if it's good for irc eggdrops good for proxies as well

I've had a VPS before and it took up to much of the CPU resources too.

when you use VPS you're not affecting the other users of the server, right? Even if your cpu usage is high, there aren't such risks as on a shared account

Do you make a lot more money than the servers are because I was finding that it was coming pretty close.

my proxy was with godaddy but they shut me down i now use a 5 dollar a month hosting plan from http://jymweb.com my proxy is located at http://techtakeover.com/search i use phpproxy script. Its been up for over a month now with no probs, i dont get as much traffic as jack, but i do get a lot, probably around 35 gigs bandwith a month now.
