Problems with netfirms

Hi,

I am having very bad problems with netfirms. I started hosting my website towards the end of last year. For the last 6 months, my website has been slow. Sometimes it never bothers loading, other times I get an operation timed out message. I've had customers to email me telling me they are unable to access the website.

I've emailed them on and off for the whole time, and I've been told that the website loads fine.

Finally, I called them today and spoke to someone that was very rude and blamed it all off on my computer. Basically, he told me that I should just tell everyone that can't access the website that it's their computer problem.

I could understand that it might be my internet connection if it was just me. But I have tried accessing the website from different computers, had others emailing me saying that they can't access it, and my isp said since it's only that website I'm having problems with, that it is not the internet service.

I did the run command on my computer and ping my website. I was given 100% lost.

When I asked this guy for the website address of another website that netfirms hosted he refused to give it to me. I thought that most hosting companies want you to see websites that they host to show them off so to speak.

I've thought of going to another hosting company as I am losing sales left and right over this. I think I am also going to go to the bbb about it. Any advice?

Time to find a new host.

Not necessarily a bad thing on their part. A lot of clients are not comfortable in having their websites shared for various reasons and many smart companies will use their TOS to mention that they won't pass out website URLs and such. They're a large firm and they don't need those example websites.

I'd contact the BBB since they are apart of it and simply find a new host.

Check something like DNSreport.com when you suspect your site is malfunctioning as well as a tracert report... usually these methods help diagnose whether it's an ISP issue or a problem with the host's servers. In this case, it seems they're not really willing to find what the problem really is, so there isn't a need to put up with them, when there are several other places to choose from.

Good luck!

About 1 year ago I had some domain problems with them. My domain just disappeared from the web, they just kept hanging up the phone when I call and not answer emails. I got in with a chat and the guys says there was a note on my account and then he said let me check it, then he just went offline in the chat. Not sure what's up with these guys.
