Preserving value if migrate from WhyPark to regular hosting

This may be a stupid, newbie-level question: Let's say I park a domain name on WhyPark and build a minisite (in essence) including affiliate links, attract some inbound links, build some PageRank, etc. If I then move the domain to a regular hosted site at, say, HostGator, and copy/replicate all content as closely as possible, do all of the site's intrinsic value elements transfer? For example, would all of the inbound links and SEO "weight" be maintained? Might search engines alter your PR and SERP rank because you changed nameservers or IP address?

Thanks,

I don't think changing an IP would be an issue. They can be changed without moving server easily when you got many IPs available for your hosting already. And changing hosting/nameserver is relatively common I'd believe, so they wouldn't penalize it when the website remains the same. Haven't noticed any change when moving server.

Namworld:
Thanks for the feedback!

Anyone else have experience/thoughts re: any potential downsides to moving a developed minisite from a parking service like WhyPark to a regular hosting account (e.g., HostGator)?

The trick will be to keep the file names identical so inbound links and search results resolve properly.

Thanks. You make a logical point, but one that's always worth repeating.

I intend to duplicate the site as much as possible, including the site structure and file names.

I appreciate your taking time to comment.

Any tips on how to make the transition from parking service to hosting service as easy & transparent as possible (i.e., just copying a site in whole from WhyPark and republishing on HostGator reseller account)? Are there better parking platforms to use, in anticipation of moving the site later?

Just noticed... one whypark site posted here has some files with extension .cfm. How can you replicate that?

mod_rewrite or redirects.

the idea of developing a name to a mini site is a good one...
replicating content of a parked page is not
spend the time and money on content and the visitors will come..don't give them more of the same by using a parked page content.

All the best with it..keep us posted

Cheers
