As number of available LLLL.net made from English premium letter only (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, L, M,
N, O, P, R, S, T) constantly decreasing I think it's right time to start this countdown.
Right now there's around 8100 available names.
At the end of August number was 10600.
At current registration pace it's safe to assume that all of them will be gone by New Year/January
2016, as speed usually increase when under 5000 names left.
Few fact to keep in mind:
1. Lowest market price for worst quality LLLL.com currently is $120-130, which is higher than it was in
2008 when premium LLLL.net buyout first happened.
2. Bottom floor price for English premium LLLL.com is $350-450, that puts targer price for English
premium LLLL.net at $17-22 taken 5% of LLLL.com price.
3. All Chinese pattern LLLL.net were bought out in July and just in two month their price skyrocketed
4-6 times all the way up to $35-40 a piece.
4. All Chinese LLLL.cc were recently bought out as well.
5. All CVCV LLLL.net and premium VCVC.net were bought out and currently being picked up from drop.

From what I learned watching Chinese market and auctions buying happens in waves.

First 5000 English premiums, then 14-16K wave that took all A+CCC, CVCV and VCVC, now 3rd wave of 20K.

Same goes for Chinese LLLL.net at the auctions. One busy day of 1000+ names sold, then 3-6 days of slow volume 200-300 names sold, then another wave.

But indeed few more waves like that and all will be registered.

Omg just left the computer for about 5-6 hours returned now and seeing this.. So calculation for complete buyout in 100 days already broken..

$11 not much, but you gotta start somewhere.

Very interesting to see a secondary market with volume developing at any price for non-Chinese premium, non-Western premium LLLL.net. The Chinese have clearly become fans of .net when they are buying names like this (not to mention the net chip appreciation).

I wonder if Chinese domainers and endusers consider .com as having a factor 10x to .net, or they consider .net more superior than being just 1/10th of a .com.

If the later is the case, if would be fun to see as old world stereotypes are getting broken.

Since there are a few people who said the Domain.com promo did not work for them:
Name.com will have a promo between 3PM and 5PM PST (few hours from now) where .com and .net will be $0.99.

Is Domain.com a reputable registrar? I read a bad review of them somewhere recently..

they are reputable to me and the only hassle seem that you have to reach their support if you want to push or transfer out your domains.

It was written back in 2008, but a lot of this information still usefull and can be applied to any LLLL valuation.
So if CVCV, VCVC, 4L premiums, both Chinese and English are gone, next we looking for pronounceable names.
Patterns:
CVVC, VCCV, CCVC and CVCC, and 3 letter premiums.
