I recently received an email stating that some dot tv premium were up for renewal and that I must submit a wire transfer to eNom if I want to renew the names.

Does anybody know whether credit cards are still acceptable forms of payment? Thank you for any input you can provide.

Was it for a premium over $5000 per year renewal?

I was looking at a $10000 premium the other day and saw this message on enom.com

You might have to be logged in to see it, but after you click on a premium, you will notice it says in black:

"All names $5000 and up are paid for by wire transfer only. This is a simple process. Click the 'Buy Now' button and we'll reserve the name for 5 days while the wire transfer is completed."

Does not seem to show up unless your buying a $5000+ premium

Wow.

I don't own any names yet.

So your suppose to have 5000 or 10000 liquid cash to buy a name. That's silly if you ask me.

I am sure there are a lot of people that charge on card here.

So the higher yearly fee names and people have spent there money on developement expenses have to raise cash or there name gets dropped. This is based on people not being liquid nor am I saying people are not liquid but this blows my mind with enom if its true?

Maybe there having problems with credit card fraud or they don't want to pay the card processing fee

So the big investors, just realized this if they were not liquid was that they would need to take out a cash advance on card or personal loans or equity lines from your house??

Of the names coming up for renewal between today and September, only one requires wire transfer and the renewal fee for that domain is $10,000. Its a great domain but I am too involved with other projects to even begin to work on developing a domain like this. Heck, I don't even have the time to market the domain to the companies that would be interested in acquiring this domain.

As I was discussing with mindwrecker, I think this one might be going to the auction block for the person or persons who think they might be able to find a buyer and flip the name.

Did you call and confirm, is it a wire transfer for premium names over $5000?

I wonder what the exact reason is for this? I have my assumptions but I wonder what they say?

Yeah your right heroes,

I think the confusion is because some of these premiums were regged during the golden era, maybe at the time they did not need to do the wire because of the 70% of discount?

And so the credit crunch continues.......

A little bit of a shock is coming to town as the two year reg fest party of 06 comes to an end and the harsh reality of high premiums/renewals bares its teeth......

To those who can really afford the renewals - no problems.......

To those that managed to sell off in time their premiums at a decent overall profit....well done!!

to those who looked to mix it with the big boys with grand schemes and credit cards.......scary nights surely lie ahead.......

So millers you think a few names will be dropping or sold off before they expire?

5k a year is surly a hefty hit but if its a 70 percent discount still a mini hefty hit of 3500 roughly.
