To get backlinks I have made several phpld templates and 1 site sift template, I will give you download links for this templates, remember you can't remove the sponsored by link as someone paid for it, you can just keep promoting the templates to get more backlinks. Revenue: Well as you can see it is a free directory, so I earned through featured links and sitewide text link selling (you can remove this on the 02/02/07). I sold on average about 3-4 featured links a month (being a pr0). Revenue for last 3 months was about $500 (approx.)

Directory business is getting hotter and hotter, cause selling high pr links is something really valuable nowadays for SEO. You can sell sitewide links at $35-40/month, making a total revenue of $350-400/month just by selling 10 sitewide text links. The rest of revenue will come from selling directory text links, so if you make the directory paid and you are a good marketer, you should have no problem in a getting a good amount of money on the short term.
