Seems to be some interest in arbitrage so I'll start with this question about
Adwords - do you have to have at least one active keyword for search in order for your ad to be displayed on the content network.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

ok...added phrase match and exact match for all keywords.....lowered search bid to 65 cents max and content bid to 15 cents match......will see how this goes....only have 1 adgroup running for this campaign with 14 keywords (42 total)

What is QS? Where do I see it in account?

QS is Quality Score. You have to turn on the QS display, don't ask me why, it should be default. But that's Google for ya.

Anyway -

In your online account, click yourself into a campaign, and then into an ad group. Make sure you're in the keyword tab (i.e. the keywords are showing) In the second green bar, there should be a link that says Customize Columns. If you click it, it says Show/Hide Columns. Pick the Quality Score one, and then Done. Once you do that, it should show for all the ad groups in the campaign.

Note, the Quality Score for the Content Network is different, and as yet, you can't see that. The Quality Score that displays is ONLY for Search. I don't know if Google plans to change that.

Thanks Netmeg.

So is QS for the keywords/adgroups in general or it shows our keyword/adgroup performance?

Each keyword has a different CTR,CPC,position and QS.

There's actually more than one Quality Score. There's the keyword quality score, and for the Content Network, I think it's more of an Ad Group quality score (as the individual keywords don't matter as much) There's also an Account Quality Score, where they assess your overall account. That's what kicks in when you start a new campaign. If they don't have any other performance data to go on, but you have a good Account Quality Score, they'll give you the benefit of the doubt for a while based on that, until they find out how your new campaign is actually doing. If your overall Account Quality Score is bad, you'll be Google-Slapped as soon as you start a new account, with $1 to $10 minimum bids, and have to work your way back from there.

And there may be other quality scores that nobody outside Google even knows about.

netmeg,If you create a campaign and use DKI within ad text/URL,your QS will be great by default!

I'm sorry, and I don't mean to offend you, but that is absolutely untrue.

It may be working for you, and if it is, that's great. But DKI is not an automatic free pass to good QS, and it's wrong to tell people it is. Just the opposite, actually.

Does anyone have any good tips based on experience for M$ Adcenter? I set up
campaigns and everything is fine for a few days and then you get the cryptic
email that your ads or keywords have been disallowed and it's hard as hell
tyring to figure out what's wrong. I try to keep my ads and keywords as
generic as possible - no actual name brands, no possible TM infringement,
etc.

Thanks...

I was told by two different adCenter reps absolutely no PPC to parked domains. If you're using adCenter and they haven't shut you down yet, they probably will when they find you.

Guys... keep in mind that the higher on the radar this gets, the more likely it is that someone will decide to kill it. Publishing articles on it, these threads, etc; could very well lead to it getting killed. I'd strongly suggest that this be taken to a private forum.

Seems like the prudent thing to do. What/where do you suggest for a private
forum?
