Hi guys,

Can I pose a question to the experienced domainers here?
I have several domain names logged with GD and are up for sale.
I've not heard anything for quite a while when today, I received an email from a guy in Tokyo who claims to represent a buyer in Tokyo who's interested in one of my domains.
He says he helps his VIP clients to find names for their projects and want to make me an offer.
Does this sound okay or does it sound a bit scammy to you guys?

Huge thanks,

Gaz

They will demand that you pay for an appraisal and then you will never hear from them again after you pay for it.

You could play the guy along, have a bit of fun if you mentions anything about buying appraisals

Well, at least be nice until you are 100% - right now 99.99 - just in case, let them ask for the scam. At least you experience it all play out with no worries?

Yeah. We could all start replying back to them that we require for them to pay for an appraisal so that we can confirm that their offer is not too low. :joyful:

I wrote about this before, I had someone write me something similar. You can see my blog post about it here.

In short, this isn't a legit offer. It's bull.

All the genuine brokers that have contacted me with regards to a specific name, always seem to start with a low-ball offer.
