Well guys,

forgive me of my noob-ness. I am still new to this. I have my WHOIS information public for a domain I'm selling, because I heard many people say that you'll get contacted via email if you leave it public. Well, I got contacted. This seems very scammy to me, but yet again I'm not too sure what the harm is in replying. What do you experienced people think? Scam? Email is from [email protected]

Hello!

I represent an investor from Canada who wants to buy skateboarding.biz for a new online startup.

He has $120,000 budget for several names so he can make you a good offer.

If your domain is still for sale, please contcat me and we'll discuss the details.

Best Regards,

yes sounds phony - but to be sure, ask about escrow, get email and all contact, and phone or skype video conversation.

Solved! I'm gonna reach out to GoDaddy and paste the email header, and suggest they deactivate this person's account for spam.

Yeah, talk to Felicia... she'll ask you to do an appraisal. She's very helpful, she'll even recommend where you can best do that :sneaky:

If emails contain clickable links. It goes without saying never click. And I've gotten such emails recently. No harm in "taking a look" but as soon as an "angle" pops up. Spam box the email address. Usually just a side pitch to get you to pay for an appraisal or a phishing attempt.

Plus easy enough to follow up their company info using Google .

If anything a waste of 5-10 mins of your time.

yes this is a scam... scams come in all shapes and sizes.

This week I had a Jamaican guy call me to inform me that I have won the publishers clearing house 3.5 million dollar drawing.

All I needed to do was sent $300 to get the money across interstate lines.

I kept him on the hook for 20 minutes then went silent and played the greatest hits of TOK.
