I found that HealthScanning's asking price was in the mid-six-figure range. I expected memindai/com to reach at least the low six-figure range.

This thread is a good example of the unrealistic expectations in the domain investment field.

DICOM is the industry standard for all Medical Imaging. DICOM networks abound.

You need to know the difference between a domain and subdomain.

You need to READ. I own multiple ccTLD's , gTLD's, and legacy domains. If you read what I wrote, I clearly explained my position.

Launched.com

But I may end up developing and using it instead because of how well it fits the domain / startup field.

That "extension" has 12 total sales for $1580 going back to 2019. (5) of those are single characters selling for $205 or less.

Interesting..

I purchased this domain in 2024. There were only 3-4 single character domains I wasn't able to register. Literally 0-9 was available and (almost) A-Z.

I forgot who the Namepro member was that made the announcement that .com.ai was available at Porkbun. I commented he let the cat out the bag. In less than 3 days all the single character domains were registered.

The point is most Namepro members weren't aware .com.ai was available. If they were I wouldn't have been able to cherrypick in 2024.

If .com.ai is worthless why the goldrush?

I'm not arguing against previous sales.

Those are actual ccTLD run by the country itself, with massive usage and credibility.

The ownership of the registry doesn't change the fact the structure of the domain is the same.

v.com.ai
v.co.uk
v.com.au

Ummm, nope.

Registries dont see a subdomain as a seperate domain. Its always tied to the root domain, therefore you cant have seperate ownership of a subdomain, like you can a domain. You dont own it.

You cannot set up a seperate cpanel or hosting for a subdomain. This is a MASSIVE security risk and you would not want a stranger using a subdomain, due to security risks.

You cannot set up seperate DNS records on a subdomain, so you have no control over it. It all is controlled by the root domain.

I'm sorry that you think it's important for me to know any backend web security issues. Not one single person that has sold a domain gave a single thought towards DNSSEC.

You're telling me all this to justify your position NO-ONE will buy my domain.

If I started expounding about the total bitcoin hash rate and mempool metrics, you would think, What does this have to do with the price of Tea in China? In the same manner why are you concerned about security risks, are you a qualified buyer?

I didn't ask for a special evaluation of v.com.ai . I didn't photoshop the evaluations.

I posted receipts of third party evaluations not my wishful thinking.

Most domains investors pick up end up sitting unsold.

STR confirms this.

My focus isn't on what a domain investor finds valuable. It's on the potential end user.

com.ai is the domain
v.com.ai is a subdomain of the com.ai domain.
Structurally, com.ai behaves like a secondโ€‘level domain under .ai, similar to co.uk, rather than an independent label like it.com.

https://publicsuffix.org/list/public_suffix_list.dat

// ai : http://nic.com.ai/
ai
com.ai
net.ai
off.ai
org.ai

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.ai#Second_and_third_level_registrations

You cannot set up seperate DNS records on a subdomain, so you have no control over it. It all is controlled by the root domain.
I'm sorry, but this is not technically correct for .com.ai.

Hand-reg'd not too long ago...

gai .it .com (generative artificial intelligence/information technology)

Does this behave like a second or third level domain?

You forgot the most obvious one.

LAMborghini QOporte

๐Ÿ˜„ True, branding always leaves room for imagination.
But thereโ€™s one small detail you missed: itโ€™s Lamqoโ€ฆ and if the q gets a bit excited, spins around, and turns into a b, it instantly becomes LAMBO.
Looks like this domain enjoys stirring controversy more than expected ๐Ÿ˜‰

In DNS terminology, it's a third-level name. How it will behave, I don't know. ;)

Wishing you a terrific outcome.

Obviously a great domain.

It's great for anything startup / business related in general.
