I wasn't aware that 28% of my traffic was wasted in the last 3 months that I was using an theme that is not compatible with IE7... Or maybe, my customization was poor and I was so damned not to check the result..

I am following closely my daily stat at google but I did never checked data on browsers. I wasn't aware that the theme (prosense) that I was using for 3 months was broken in all IE versions after I customized the header. After a friend of mine told me that he cannot see my page, I checked it and found out how ugly it was...

I spent more than 5 hours of doing some trial and errors on themes for Myseoblog, net and I tested more than ten themes, only 2 have passed IE. I think 100% of webdesigners uses FF that's why most themes are compatible only with FF.

The following was my google analytics data before I change the previous theme with the current and final theme.
IE all version
00:01:44 Avg. Time on Site
70.53% Bounce Rate
1.60 Pages/Visit

Firefox and Mozilla

00:04:38 Avg. Time on Site
43.82% Bounce Rate
3.48 Pages/Visit

The following is yesterday's data after changing the theme...

After changing theme yesterday (IE 7 and lower version)
00:03:98 Avg. Time on Site
54.82% Bounce Rate
2.79 Pages/Visit

Look at the change in bounce traffic and the time the visitors stay on my site... The percentage has skyrocketed and the number of time they stay...

I was so dumb to miss this... now check sites if they are compatible with all browsers or else you gonna waste your traffic..

Unfortunately no browser is perfect but maybe one day we will see one. Google Analytics offers great insight and I think its a must for any webmaster. Since IE still owns the highest share of the browser market I would recommend always designing for IE and make it look acceptable in Firefox.

IMO, I think sites should be designed according to web standards, and THEN made acceptable for IE...and as for "perfect" (since we are only talking about the rendering of sites) there IS a perfect when that browser follows the web standards.

A professional designer will always check work in multiple browsers. IE and Safari are notorious for having messed up page displays. Though if it looks good in IE it is prolly ok in FF as well.

Most premade free designs for wordpress go crazy in IE because the designer makes them in FF. This is a common mistake and is something that should be checked everytime you add something new to your site design wise.
