Pool.com Marketplace Question

Does anyone have experience with Pool Marketplace?

I purchased a domain on Pool Marketplace the other day, which itself leaves a lot to be desired. It has been 48+ hours since I was the winning bidder, and charged yet I have not heard anything. Pool.com says the transfer will occur in 24 hours. I know Namescout is the registrar they use. I have an account on Namescout that I signed up for after the auction, but there is no domain in it. I am wondering what the process is. Am I supposed to do something now, or is it just a waiting game for the auction to finally show up?

Thanks,
Brad

They usually create an account at Namescout for you. It can take a bit longer sometimes, not often. Check your emails. They send you your namescout log-in details to you and you go from there. They create the account.

Thanks for the quick response firefly. I was just getting kind of concerned since I have never used them before.

Their system leaves a lot to be desired. The whole search engine and auction format is pretty bad.

I quite like them. Never had a problem. I do dislike Namescout though. Their renewal fees are ridiculous. I transfer out the names I intend to keep.

Like I said, just keep an eye on your email. You will get your account details and domain.

The main reason I don't like Pool so far is their search engine. There is no real way to narrow down the list to exactly what you are looking for. I have to export the full list into word and use a wildcard search to narrow down exactly what I am looking for.

Thanks for the response. I added to your rep.

I work for the parent company of Pool, I have alerted their CEO to this thread as he is very interested in user feedback and he can also look into the domain for you.

If you want to alert him to this thread also I would appreciate it. Basically Pool says Namescout has the domain, and Namescout says another registrar has it.
I am confused.

As I work for the parent company I do have access to many of the systems. If you want to PM the name or post it here I can take a look for you. Namescout provides the front end for many registrars which can be confusing, the whois will say one registrar name but the domain is actually managed at Namescout.

Thanks Rebel.

Issue has been resolved. The name is now listed in my Namescout account.
The main problem here was the response by Namescout saying they didn't have the domain initially.

I had the name pushed to your account, will follow up with Namescout staff to ensure these issues are handled correctly in the future.

Search improvements

Hi All,

I am the CEO at Pool.com and appreciate your suggestions. The improvement of the search tool is on our dev list and will be addressed hopefully in the near future. The intent is to provide much broader string capabilities that would also provide for better keyword alerts and emails. If you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear from you... [email protected]

Thanks Richard. I was just concerned because I was new to Pool, and wasn't that familiar with the process. When Namescout sent me that email regarding the domain I was concerned. Just a misunderstanding.
