Recently put up some names for sale at Pool that were recently acquired at Pool. I recieved an email from Namescout that to list on Pool, it was necessary that I transfer the names to Namescout. A day later I recieve this email:
Hello,

This email is to inform you that the required transfer of your domain to Namescout.com in order to list your domain for sale with Pool.com has declined. The transfer failed as your domain is currently less then 60 days old and therefore cannot transfer according to Registry regulations.

You will be contacted by Pool.com shortly who will provide you with a contract to sign which will allow you to list your domain for sale while keeping it at the current registrar.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Pool.com by email at [email protected].

Regards,

Customer Service

Who's on 2nd?
No! Hughe's on 1st.
Well if Hughe's on 1st, then who's on 2nd?
I said Hugh is.
How can Hugh be on 1st and 2nd?
I didn't say that... :bah:

3 days have passed, and I still haven't heard from Hugh, I mean Pool.

So was this a valid (confusing) email from them or just spam? I don't get it!

Nt yet. I thought I could pay my fees and list, however, have been delayed by above, and now am having to do a tapdance w/ renewing my Pool info, which I don't understand (no explanation- same info- while they temporarily suspend my account to update info- agasin, I don't know what they want me to update. A very frustrating company to do biz w/. I hope someone knocks them off the topspot- w/ their customer service, they don't deserve to be there. Owners probabably don't care- make their load of $ and run.

Confusing.

What happens is if you want to sell your names at pool.

The domains ahve to be transfered to namescout reasons for this shows you own the domain if the domain sells pool can take control and hand it to other person.

They make money out of it.

And thats how it works.

Almost.

The divergence between what they claim you *must* do, and how they modify these requirements when the name doesn't qualify- after charging your credit card, is the source of the confusion. And in the meantime, several days later, my credit card has been charged, have received nothing from Pool to sign, have had my account temporarily suspended (which locks me out of my Pool Account and any transactions, and I have received no explanation from Pool. (Can't even use contact link to them from their site- am always rerdirected to the Personal Info Pg.

I have spent about $1500 w/ Pool over past 3mos, but I suppose unless you are a really big player, they don't give a s~~t.

Good luck, I have tried to list 2 domains on the market place.
One has now been over 2 weeks from when I applied and seems to be going nowhere ... The other is just over a week now and have just got confirmation through that the domain will be moved to NameScout, don't know how long after that happens it will take to get listed.

Anyone else had any success, or faliure ?

Wishing you all the best

Richard

Did they temporarily suspend your account pending new info or is this another issue- I am in the middle of changing addresses, but that is all- made change but still don't know if that is it. Never have been notified concerning what they need.
Just call me a Pool mushroom.

Both domains had been in my account for several months, the contact information was up to date ( and had remained the same since I got them ).
They are un-locked and ready for transfer.

Not sure what else I could do :)

All the best

TX Richard. It must have something to do w/ the 60 da lock, the transfer attempt, the pending Pool contract etc. :|
It's a heck of alot easier to purchase than it is to set up to sell.
Always have to be on the lookout for the unilateral flow of money that results from a company's procedures and policy (or lack thereof). If only there were more competition on the provider end.

So is this an issue only involving NameScout then? Is that because Pool is affiliated with them?
