I had spent pretty much time researching the following domain
i PokerSeries(d0t)com before registering it.

I know next to nothing about gambling domains. So would be greatful to hear what you say.

I don't think it has much value (poker is my main niche).

I agree. iPoker .com would be good, as would PokerSeries.com. I think the two words + the 'i' at the beginning take away most of the resale value.

It still has some development potential, but poker is a very competitive keyword.

thanks.. adding rep to you. It's because of the "i" prefix?

does the fact that "i" can mean internet or international or may be for iPhone/Mac add any value? (has some meaning not just a branding prefix)

Having an i or e or similar in front of a word doesn't add value to the domain itself. For example Poker.com > iPoker.com (forget about the brand or development for this of course). In some cases having the i in front can of course work quite well in terms of being brandable and some people do like the name. Actual value would probably be affected by what is on the domain with the 'i', potential trademark issues and such.

thanks....by asking if "i" adds any value I meant adding value to the zero$ appraisal due to the fact that it's not just "i" prefix to a random keyword, but to the phrase that can be interpreted in some way, i.e iNewCars.com where "i" is for branding but with iPokerTournament.com it may mean internet/international poker tournament or specifically for iPhone/mac devices. That's what I meant actually.
Does it change anything? :-/ or "i" works only with one keyword domains

Ipoker is one of the biggest pokernetworks now(top 6), with many individual poker rooms connected to this network.
If you take the name i poker now, it means you being a copycat/squatter(by bad intention or like you say by not having any idea about poker/domains) and you may want to look into the fact whether ipoker has trademarks on any names with ipoker in it.
I can understand if you would want to take advantage of some other company having build up this name, but you should at least know this when the first google result for "ipoker" leads to this name/result and any internet player knows the name.

Basicly ipoker series would stand for a tournament organized by the network ipoker(like an online tournament week) and I could see how they would not like you using this domain in a silly way. Whether they protected it properly? Or may want to buy it from you after you register it?

I have no sympathy for this or any other poker company and do not think that many of them go aggressively after TM issues by the way, but better safe than sorry.

thanks for your detailed explanation...added rep to you.

But I have a few questions then:
1. let's take iCars.com - then iCarsOnline.com is TM infringement then from what is stated above?
2. You read it as iPoker Series.com but i took it because of i PokerSeries.com and when we take PokerSeries.com -it's a generic domain, so then it's clean as iPoker.com is clean to Poker.com, am I right?
3. What makes you think it may stand out as Ipoker.com series if there's no info that iPoker.com organized the tournament placed on the site assuming it's developed?

I think you would only really get into major TM trouble on this one if you copied there site or made your site very , also typos tend to have more issues with TM's. PokerSeries.com is regged but parked and I doubt they would be worried about getting issues from Poker.com.

The name is still brandable to some respect and could definitely be developed.

I'm no expert on TM issues, so if you are worried about this you would need to seek independant advice.

if iPoker is a trademark I would drop it.

so there's no way to sell gold rings for iGoldRings and diamond jewelry for iDiamondJewelry, swiss watches for iSwissWatches because there are iGold.com and iDiamond.com selling gold and diamonds and iSwiss.com? :|

and is there any idiamond jewelry or ipoker series - IMO it's incorrect from the grammar point, there maybe only ipoker.com poker series I guess???
iPokerpokerseries.com is a TM infringement for sure...

thanks for your thoughts guys. i see I have yet to learn how to pick a domain to hand-reg, because even a long research didn't help me as I can see from the majority of appraisals here. if anyone wants to give his appraisal, write it here;)
