Just one of the millions who think their domain is worth more than it actually is. There's most likely no actual reasoning.

I'd encourage you to try out www.estibot.com . It's a great tool to help a newcomer understand what their name is worth. Usually it appraises .mobi names for a fair bit more than they're worth, so take it with a grain of salt and take it as an indication of the maximum you could reasonably expect to earn from the name in question.

Automatic appraisals are a bad idea for someone who doesn't know how to price their domains.

They'll will tell them it's worth 10 grand and they'll bump the price even higher!

Actually, Estibot is pretty reasonable -- not like Leapfish for those who haven't tried it. It appraises this name at reg fee, which I'd say is on the generous side, but within reason.

Estibot is terrible for appraising .mobi's because there is not enough sales data yet, IMO. Other stuff, yes, but not .mobi's yet.

If it was right about appraising .mobi's, I'd be a very happy man!

This sale reminds me of the guy trying to sell LACalifornia immediately after regging, I don't know if he realized it only has 25 Wordtracker. No offers on it yet, lol.

People always think their domains are worth more than they are, even me sometimes. :'(

The fact is that any domain is only worth what someone else is willing to pay, not what you think it's worth.

When you post your domains and get no offers, that should be an indication of what it's worth :hehe: :xf.love:

Yeah, I will focus on develop it rather than trying to sell it. Other domainers tell me it better to sell all in a package than individual in consider of the times involved. Especially when I dun in need of money.

In the future, I will set a price for any of my domains package and just do something else while wait for bidder to meet it minimum reserve. Today, just added on domains of 300+ to my web hosting account take me more than half day. Completed the added on domains latest by next week. :) :) :)

Thanks for letting me know about estibot. It's a wonderful tool. Now I can put my other .coms up for sale too. I didn't put them up before because I didn't know how to appraise them. Always afraid I'd quote for less than its value.

If estibot says poker-bonus.mobi is reg fee, then I'll sell it to the next poster who post "SOLD". Price is USD15.00 as per GoDaddy. :sold: Payment thru paypal.

Still, be careful with Estiboot...Here are four names I just looked.

sex.mobi: 8'000 USD
flowers.mobi: 4'200 USD
fcn.mobi: 2900 USD
news.mobi 2'500 USD

I guess there is only one name from this list that you could maybe get for the estiboot valuation, but I think it's pretty accurate

Still I agree that it is a lot better, or without comparison, than leapfish.

If it's a new reg and with GoDaddy, they won't let you transfer it for 60 days.

Err.. but I can transfer account right? Just can't change registrar. So, if you have a GoDaddy account, I can push to you, isn't that right? I pushed a .com to another buyer yesterday within the 60 days restriction.

And if you don't have a GoDaddy account, I think you'll be asked to create one when you receive this domain.

That could be true, I think it's just if the buyer has a different registrar the 60 days applies. I would check with GoDaddy to confirm.

i like the spirit, reg fee. its not zero in that poker and bonus are at least good words which could go together. finding a seller for $15 for that now would be hard, but if .mobi heats up, you could get that back. also being in 5 day window you could call godaddy and get a refund as well (recommendation).

you can push at godaddy, no etiquette problem in just asking a buyer what his godaddy account is/to open one up.

find the godaddy mobi code thread on this forum, regs are 10.20 with code.
thread is called 2/20

Are you sure this could be done? How? Can I email them? What reason could I give to cancel the order? After I cancel the order, maybe I'll re-order to get the domain at $10.20

Yes, at this point I recommend using it as a keyword tool only for .mobi. I'm working on the .mobi extension. THe problem is that the sales database is so inconsistent. I would probably have to make up a whole different valuation method for .mobis...the market follows no known rules. I'm working on it though, and hopefully it'll get more accurate as I go along.

Besides, EstiBot is meant to be just a useful tool, and the valuation is only a pointer, an indicator of value if you will, and it is occasionally quite a bit off, so the valuation dollar value should always be critically analyzed by the domainer himself.

As the fat disclaimer on the site says, the valuation should not be used directly to make purchase or sale decisions and there is no guarantee that anyone will pay the appraised price.

I'm glad many of you are finding it a helpful tool though.

Cheers!
Josh

Can anyone recommend a good tool for the other extensions?

Wordtracker gives very good estimates on how often keywords are searched.
