Please Review: AffiliateSeeking Affiliates Directory

Hi,

Could you please review http://www.affiliateseeking.com

I have done a total redesign and would like comments on the design of the site and what you think about it's content.

Thanks!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
GoDaddyGoDaddy
VAST repository of information that certainly caters to the ones that are truly looking for programs. I hope you get your cut if someone comes from your site. To ease up on the eyes, i'd suggest to place a few visuals in there, it would make the content a bit better to look at.

Overall: a bit on the dry side, but certainly a very smart way of presenting content: :tu::tu: 2/3

I assume you used Wordpress? If so, let me know how to obtain a copy of your database, since you've just made my bookmarks for content, i'm certainly interested in it. PM me. thanks

Thanks for the comments.

This site has been online for a while now and I had only just re-designed it a few weeks back, that's the reason for asking for the review.

Anyway, I thought that I would mention that just to say that I've never used wordpress. All of this site has been put together through notepad. I am a programmer and design my own sites. Even all of the templates for the site have been created by myself through notepad and graphics programs.

All of the listings on the site for each affiliate program is also unique and were re-written by myself and my workers. I do this to prevent duplicate content so no other websites has the exact same listing descriptions as affiliateseeking for each affiliate program, although I must say you do get some copyright infringers, which I deal with as and when they come.

All the articles on the site are written by my employees so that they are unique and orignal and can only be found on affiliateseeking.com

About you asking for the sites database, unfortunately I can't give you that. I am also just wondering what you may have wanted it for?

Hope you understand and thanks for the good comments.

Thanks!

I certainly do understand as i'd do it the exact same way.
Congrats on coding all this by hand, it certainly looks like a CMS.

What i would have used it for? Well, that's simple to explain, see the link in my sig? I've been trying to get IntelBank off the ground for a while now. It's a forum for Intelligent Banking and Business, including Case Studies, Focus Groups, etc. I simply want to drive my board by content and not paid posters, thus, i'm aiming for it to grow organically rather than through "fake" posts. I would have used such a DB as an added incentive to become part of IntelBank - to add and review programs.

Since we're already "off topic" here, i better quit, it's your thread after all. ;)

Thanks for the explaination. I think it is going to be rather hard to get it started organically and even with some content.

I think you will either have to get some friends to start signing up and posting or go to digitalpoint and get some people to do it from there. You could just tell them that you only pay something like $0.05 per post that has over 30 words in or something.

Just a thought.

I tried getting a board up and running once and used phpBB for it. It was hard enough getting it going, but the spamming was another thing that I didn't need to also deal with.

I know that there are ways to get a board up and running, but even mine I had to post myself and signup with a few fake usernames to make it look as if there is more members than what there really were.

I then closed the forum due to the amount of spamming going on. The cause of this was because of the script choice that I had chosen. The first time I ever use someone elses script on any of my sites I had problems, I had to keep upgrading the scripts versions every month or 2, I just thought that I am glad that I do all my own scripts as I don't have any of this problem.

Afther all that though, I know realise that I should have gone with the same script that this forums uses and I should have paid for it. So I may still get a forum up and running in the future. I will have to just see how things go.
