Logging onto namepros for the first time in months and I'm very sorry to hear that you have been having problems Eric Lyon and hppe you and your family get back on your feet.
But seeing that George Verdugo and Eric Lyon are friends, after the former had vehemently defended his business associate Adam Dicker way back when and expressed no sympathy for any of his victims, in fact pretty much made his disdain for them more than apparent.... that's a massive massive head f*ck. Surreal.
Any links to any content on here or elsewhere where George expresses his regret at defending Dicker, or explains why his opinions have changed, if they have at all? I wouldn't send any money at all without confirmation that the money doesn't go through Verdugo's accounts.
Verdugo literally owned dozens of websites which drove leads to his friend Dicker's NicheWebsites business, the one which scammed dozens of people. So now I suddenly feel a lot less trusting of Namepros by association.
I don't care if people say I'm speaking out of place, it needed to be said. So George... are you still friends with Adam Dicker? If not, why not, and have you expressed this previously anywhere? Do you regret backing him, and ultimately driving victims to his scam? Just in the interests of transparency you'll understand, people need to know whether they can trust you.
You are after all even the new owner of his website.
Eric, were you friends with George whilst the Adam Dicker revelations were coming to light? Is this domain industry really that incestuous, or is this a relatively new development?
Add that to Shane Bellone driving for uber in a car that he paid for by pulling a scam, and you become to realise that the whole industry is rotten from the top down.
I'm not sure why you chose a thread about the devastating situation in my families lives to post this opinion. I can't speak for anyone else except me, so I'll address the accusations you placed on me and my family. You'll have to ask the other parties you named for their answers.
1. I think it's safe to say that most people in this industry know who I am already and that I have met and shook hands with thousands of others in the industry over the years (Including George).
2. As clearly stated in multiple places, George started the campaign to help my family through the tragedy on his own, without any knowledge or discussion with me prior to launch. I should note that such an act by anyone (Regardless who they are) is very empathetic, commendable, and compassionate.
3. While I can certainly understand your frustration and distrust for some people in the industry, I don't think it's fair to group the entire industry into that bubble of hate. Don't let a few bad incidents with others cause you to profile the entire industry the same.
4. My family and I are still recovering after losing our house, cars, and all our belongings. We managed to get a good deal on a motorhome to provide us shelter with the funds that the domain industry generously and compassionately donated to help us during that dark time of loss. We are slowly but surely getting back on our feet and still have a long way to go. Thanks for asking how we're doing.
5. I will be leaving your comment since I value everyone's opinions and don't believe in censoring anyone. However, since it was encouraging off-topic commentary, I ask that you start a new thread about that topic so that this thread can remain on-topic.
Thanks for understanding,
6. Added note: Just to address the other question about GoFundMe (GFM), the account was set-up so that I was the beneficiary, meaning that all the funds did get wired directly to my bank and nobody else's.
