I recently registered Refrigerator-Reviews.com. Any help in appraisals for reseller, end user values from NamePros vets would be much appreciated.

Some info that might be relevant:

1. Exact search numbers without hyphen [Refrigerator Reviews]: 14800 monthly, CPC more than $2.

2. Laptop-Reviews.com sold on Sedo (from dnsaleprice) for $3 750. (I’m assuming it is at least somewhat relevant since it has the word–reviews structure).

3. Refrigerator-Reviews.net and Refrigerator-Reviews.org are already registered.

Thank you.

Personally I don't see a lot of upscale in names like these, I think they have to be developed.
Also, the purpose is narrow: what if you want to cover other domestic appliances.

As for the two other extensions, the .net is undeveloped and the .org is some sort of MFA site. Have you seen the webcounter lol.

I would look at this as having zero reseller and end user value. The person that buys(regs) this needs to be the developer, not the flipper. Goodluck

However, it has SEO value, hyphen is counted as space in Google SEO..

I agree, no selling potential with this name

Is there a way to monetize the SEO value without actually building a site myself? For example would it be possible to sell this to someone who builds websites for Adsense (not a business end user, or a reseller looking to flip to a business end user) for more than reg fee?

I doubt the name is strong enough to appeal.

Given the search volume if it was me I would dedicate a couple of hours to trying to sell it. Send emails and list the search volume and name the sale price in the email - maybe $90.

Contact consumerreports/org and other consumer or review sites, these are your best chance of success. :imho:

If you can't move it, park it and move on.

(sorry if teaching you to suck eggs)

"Maybe" the .org owner could be interested, otherwise I don't see it so salable

Good luck

This might be a nice case lesson on chasing

Here is my interpretation of the facts.

Person A builds a mini site on Refrigerator-Reviews.com in 2007 using the ingenuous keyword padding/space filling of: (actual text)

"Conclusion It doesn't matter if you're looking for a kenmore refrigerator or a GE refrigerator, it always pays to do you're research before making your purchase. It also be a smart idea to stay with the namebrands such as Lg refrigerators, whirlpool and Norge refrigerators."

They give up on the site. (clue the "seo" domain must not have help that much during a more keyword in domain friendly days)

Person B thinks Refrigerator-Reviews.com has past developmental traffic that they can profit off of and acquires the name.

Person C see Refrigerator-Reviews.com is taken, must be good, so developed the dot org.

Person B drops the com domain as parking not what it used to be.

Person D (op) Sees that the org is developed and the com available WOW and registers it.

Bottom line only thing wrong with it is the hyphen. If it didnt have the hyphen people would claw at each other to get it.

With the hyphen it still can be sold for a profit but odds kick it way down into the probably needs development before selling..

Its hard to mail a refrigerator this is more the reason why laptop higher up on the ladder, Goodluck

Lol. There goes my dreams of making it rich on hyphenated domains.

@johname: Not sure about the motivations of A, B, and C, but I can confirm that you’re accurate about person D :)

I appreciate everyone putting in the time. Thanks for the suggestions.
