Enough time to build a site but I reckon you would have TM issues. I'd probably risk it though and get some news feeds and betting banners thrown in there.

IMO it's a bad move. These names most likely have TM issues. Plus, they are time-sensitive. After 2012 frenchopen2012.com will no longer be relevant. You're taking chances for (very probably) no reward. Good luck finding a buyer.

Well, a gamble is not the same as an investment. Personally I can think of less speculative names

A country followed just by the year that they host a world event is massively different then your "open" names. frenchopen2012-2022 is not even a gamble its lost money in my opinion.
