Hi people... I'm relatively new to freelancing and I was wondering about some tips regarding the approach of potential clients by Email without looking spammy.

I found a bunch of local companies which have some 5 year old plain ugly website and I would like to approach them by email to offer my services to them by proposing them a new and up to date website.
So I've send a few email... one by one, not using Bcc or something but none of them ever replied back.

Could some of you experienced freelancers here give me some tips about what to consider and how should I express my self in email so that these companies would take my offer in consideration and not regard my email just like: "Oh no, another Spam got in my Inbox! Delete of course!"

I'm confident that you guys here can help me out with this!

Thanks in advanced.:tu:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
You are sending them an unsolicited email with a commercial proposition.

Unfortunately that's the very definition of spam. Who knows, you might even be emailing the person who actually made the "ugly" website.

If they are local businesses, it might actually be a better idea to call them up and set up an appointment to discuss what you can do.

I think you should mail them not more than 10 email per day

Have to say, if they are local businesses, be easier to go by and visit them.
Remember, the owner's own son or wife or someone dear to him might have designed that site.

And okay to email 10 times a day>?
From what planet did you come from?
You email me 10 times, and you are a spammer and would be reported as such to your host, your isp and certain other authorities.
