For sale: http://www.PixelUpload.com
What it is: A free picture hosting website based around a custom written script
Stats: The site was averaging around 400 unique hits per day almost since launch (2+ weeks ago)
Basic idea of the site: It is designed for people who do not want to buy hosting or donβt know how to ftp to a server, an easy place to upload photos and then email the link to someone, or in most cases, post them on an internet forum.
The code was written specifically for this site and is not a turnkey site. Likewise, it is also written in php and can be very easily modified, and individual parts of the site can be as well, such as the header and the footer to make updating very easy should you wish to expand the site.
The domain is registered with godaddy.com and has a little more then 11 months left to it.
My reason for selling is simple. The site grew too big too fast for me to keep up with and I simply donβt have any more start-up money to give towards a dedicated server, as that is ideally what a site like this needs. Included with the sale are the domain name, entire website content and nearly 900 photos (15megs) that have been uploaded to the site so far. Bandwidth usage can be 25-35 GB per day, some days being higher then others and likely to grow as the site does.
Along with the sale I am also willing to share some places that you can advertise this site / service for free on some high traffic sites β and where it is currently being advertised at.
Asking price is $150.00
Revenue generated is between $2-4 per day, and the occasional donation via the donation link on the site. Not bad when you consider the site is barely 3 weeks old at this point and has loads per potential should you employ other means of revenue generating ads such as pop-under, active-x or outright selling ad space on the site
A working demo can be seen at http://www.mikepanic.com/pixelupload/ - as you may have noticed I have temporarily stopped allowing uploads to the server in which the actual domain is hosted because it is on a shared hosting plan and I do not want to get billed any overage charges.
Payment is accepted via paypal.
Any questions feel free to post or PM
