I hand regged this beauty about 1 hour ago and wanna know your opinions on it.
The pituitary gland is one of THE major places in the body that controls the way we humans work. :)

Pituitary-gland.com - Estibot says $1800 , Wordtracker of over 500 a day, Google keyword tool says over 2000 searches a day.
1,750,000 results for "pituitary gland" in Google.

I think I may have my first good handreg :)

Thanks for your honest appraisal, but can I ask you to expand on your answer - give me some reasons for it being regfee?

I realise that the hyphen does take away value but all the other factors about the name seem to be working for it

Sure :)

*Name is long.
*Hyphenated Domain
*Hard to remmber.
*Very Spacific.
*Undeveloped

I a appraised it accroding to these basics.

I agree it is long but it is generic. I realize it is hyphenated.

But how is it hard to remember? It is like the control centre of the body. It can't be hard to remember if it is getting over 2000 searches a day according to Google in Google. Anybody with the smallest of knowledge in Biology knows this part of the brain.

To the too specific claim, it is a great niche with many different keywords variations of searches and it is health related, therefore clicks aren't too bad.

And yes, it is undeveloped as I said, I regged it about 1.5 hours ago

I agree its generic, but the length and hyphenate kill it.

I do know what is the (pituitary gland) and almost all the glands in the body, beleive me :)

Its my opinion, maybe other would see it different.

I am probably a bigger fan of hyphenated domains than most people. They are great to develop, and the domain sales are not that bad (check out the hyphenated name sales thread). One problem here is the subject is so narrow it doesn't help.

I still think it is worth more than reg fee. Probably mid $XX - Low $XXX (to the right end user)

i respectfully disagree with some points here...

first off, there are two sides from where we have see this name
i'm a doctor, then here is the other side besides domainers' side

1) the name is long but it's the right name of the gland
2) it isn't hard to remeber at all, if you develop it for the right people and it doesn't need to be health professionals... what about a site showing diseaes of the gland?
believe me, there are many of them!
3) hyphen kills its value if you want to resell this name and if you want to drop it, otherwise keep it but development is mandatory!

names related to organs of the human body are always good if developed, that's the core of the question

I agree with your points here Bricio.

- 15 Characters including the well placed dash is not too long for an exact search term.
- I think it is easier to remember than a LLLL.com that is using an acronym that doesn't fit.
- The domain has high word tracker. People are searching for the term. Developing this name makes more sense than developing a "Brandable" name that has 0 Word Tracker, and is unrelated to the topic.

I am medical as well, and it could potentially be an education site for students, however in that case "endocrine system" would actually be more appropriate. For laypeople, "Pituitary Surgery" would be something they would be looking in to imo.
