I've just acquired Amsterdam dot Org

It's been bought for development, but i'm interested in hearing your opinions on value.

PR4
Wordtracker: 4375 per day (estibot)
Google adwords tool: 20,400,000 average searches per month 2,740,000 - local search volume in July.

Thanks for your opinions.

It is worth a lot. It is hard to price a top tier GEO like this.

I would price it Mid $XX,XXX - Low $XXX,XXX. With one like this you never though, there is not really a ceiling on the potential upside.

The domain itself also seems to get a good amount of traffic which is a nice bonus.

I agree with the above post. Iโ€™d be interested to know how much you paid to acquire it if the information is not confidential. Wish you good luck with your development plan.

As stated above. I don't think low six figures, but who knows... it's worth a lot.

You do certainly own some sick names... scrap-metal is underpriced, IMO. I wish I was liquid enough right now to speculate on a name like that...
PM me if you want to sell an option on it.

just for my own education, what is it that makes this domain so valuable? what sort of domains can be this valuable despite not being .com's?

Because it's a popular location, due to it's liberal views on sex and drugs.
That's ultimately what makes it quite a valuable domain.

.org's generally make great authoritative domains for locations.
People tend to trust .org's more. So a travel/tourism/news site would be great in the extension.

Sorry this name is worth only reg fee but since I am feeling in a good mood today I can offer $1,000 (around 150 times its reg fee value). Must be your lucky day friend.

Wow this is the best domain I have seen at NP in a long time. What a gem :)

Peachy domain although I'm not a fan of .orgs, pure city generics are like hens teeth, if you sell it for anything under 6 figures you'd be nuts....or desperate ;) Fantastic one for development

personally .....I'd rather own L-A.com :bingo:

Good luck %%-

.

I'm going with high $x,xxx to low $xx,xxx due to subject matter and current market conditions. A foreign city is not the best fit for the .ORG extension. Best of luck. IMO.

Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that this is a FREE appraisal. This is a guess at quick flip resale value not an unrealistic end-user price. Often times my appraisals are rushed, too low, or too high. Sometimes my advice is totally wrong and occasionally downright dumb. If the post stamp is after 5:00pm EST, the chances are even greater that inaccuracies will occur due to blood alcohol levels.

Comparable sales:
madrid.net $43,920 2008 sedo.com
beijing.net $50,000 2008 snapnames

I don't see this domain going near 6 figures.
