What programs does everyone use?

Do you use stuff like Dreamweaver and Frontpage or go with simpler methods like notepad, notpad++ ect?

also is this more a matter of preference on what to use can they all do the same things?

I use dreamweaver cs3, but if i don't have access to it (like if i'm working on a work computer), i use notepad++.

Personally I use Zend Studio. A good editor and has built in features to interface with Zend Platform.

i open up dreamweaver when i'm knee deep in generating/modifying a page. for small quick changes i just use notepad.

for diffing I use WinMerge on Windows and vimdiff on linux

I just can't seem to replace Edit+... I always go back to it! Lately though, I have been using the Aptana plug-in for Eclipse. Aptana is a great web programming IDE especially if you are familiar with the Eclipse Java IDE.

I use PHP Expert Editor. It's easy to use and very inexpensive.

I am currently using notepad and HTML but I like notepad++

+1 for pspad. I love the colour picker. Lorem ipsum generator and various other tools in it.

I use notepad++ to do batch search and replacing though.
