Photoshop or Fireworks?

Which one's the better graphics program? I use fireworks...and it seems pretty user-friendly...but I'm starting to see that Photoshop maybe more powerful.

I used fireworks for my first couple of months in graphic design. But once you learn how photoshop works and can get fluent with it's shortcuts and abilities you wont regret switching to photoshop. Trust me. Yes, fireworks is easier and faster for a novice person but if you're ready for a program that has way more features and customizations.....photoshop is your future. I wouldn't recomend photoshop cs2 there isnt much difference besides the font preview option in the font drop down box...I have all of them I usually use cs2 but it's not worth the money imho.

I really like how Fireworks functions. It's stable and POWERFUL for web-design graphics.

Photoshop is the ultamite, so if you're into advanced graphics, get it.

If you want 3D graphics, get Blender

I think photoshop is the best, I've used both and I prefer Photoshop, can seem do more with it.

I don't like fireworks. I have used both. Seems very slow. You can do so much with photoshop. I think adobe will get rid of fireworks soon, they will replace it with imageReady.

Well, if I were to choose between Photoshop and Fireworks i would go with Photoshop.

Otherwise, Photoshop is WONDERFUL. CS2 is w00t l33t. lol. Um, Fireworks is VERY nice for web graphics.

I would have to say photoshop.
photoshop is very user-friendly and it has the most functions for designing.
no other software can compete with photoshop.
u can Do realistic CG coloring and drawing.
u can do awesome high tech signatures and designs.
it's simply amazing.

Fireworks still cannot compete with photoshop's popularity but it's a good program
but if u want to do professional work.
use photoshop CS2.

I've been using Photoshop and I am not that good at graphics so I'm going to pick up a copy of fireworks and try it out....

i use both, but over time ive found that photoshop is far the better software, im still getting into photoshop though...
