Which do you prefer?

Hi, I am new in graphic design, and I was wondering, do you prefer Photoshop, Fireworks, or CS 2?


If somebody could get back to me on this, It would help. ALOT. lol.

Photoshop is a part of CS2 bundle (along with other programs).
Current PS version is 9, but it's also called CS2.

I am currently using Photoshop 7.

I have used Photoshop CS2 before, but it seemed to lagg my PC. The new features on CS2 i didn't use too much anyway. :p

I like photoshop the best....but fireworks is good....its all up to u photoshop is probably one if not the best graphic program "on the market" right now.

Hitch, what about the vanishing point filter in CS2? I've fond it quite good can come in use full if you wanna chack out the perspective.
As for lagging CS2 is RAM-hungry, and tenrs to lag on images over 1700 pixels wide whan you do rapid strokes with big brushes But I heard there's a patch that sorts it all out.
Over all I'm happy. as for other programs i only used Photoshop and Painter also her lots of good things about GIMP, but never used it myself.

That is a good question. It looks like you do need some help. What are you trying to do. Each program is good but they have their specialties. Then, Photoshop is a part of the Adobe CS2 Suite which includes Illustrator, GoLive, Photoshop, InDesign, and then the Adobe Reader (don't quote me on that part, but I believe that is included).

I have Photoshop 7.0, I have used CS2 although I have not purchased the upgrade for it yet, I do not see a need although I will jump on that soon. I used fireworks several times before the 'aquirement'.

I love Illustrator CS. When I started out, I used Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7...they have a version 9 now which is much more similar to the advanced Photoshop features, and I heard the new PSP9 was great. After PSP, I started using Photoshop. It might be a bit harder to understand at first, but its wonderful. However, Illustrator CS (same Adobe family as Photoshop) is great for making logos because its a real vector program, so I use that the most now...it is slightly more difficult to grasp than Photoshop though.

For Vector Graphics I use Corel Draw. For Raster Graphics I use Photoshop CS2.
