PayPal Security Key : Are you going to order one?

I just now found out that PayPal offers a security key for added protection.

Even though I am very disappointed recently with PayPal in the way they handle some things related to scammers, I am happy to see this new security key they are offering.

I am going to order mine first thing when I wake up tomorrow!, it's only $5. How could I refuse the added protection to my account and a new, cool keychain..

It also works with Ebay and they are partnering with VeriSign so that it can be implemented on a number of websites around the world.

I would love it if this device worked for all of my websites that I log into, including NamePros, DP, MySpace and everything else. Wouldn't it be great if they all agree to use this device and make it even cheaper for their members! (Although 5 bucks is pretty cheap IMO)

It says the $5 price tag is intoductory and I believe it, better get yours now.

I really think this will do well, what are your opinions? Is it hackproof? Do you think it's a step in the right direction?

Hmm. Well I didn't actually order mine yet, I was so excited that I wanted to post this first. But I'm sure they are available. Maybe they are out of stock. I'm going to order one first thing in the morning and if it wont work, I'll call the people in the office I really want one of these.

Is there any way to tell whether or not the other party is using a security key? So for example, just as you can limit Paypal transactions to Verified Address accounts, maybe you could also only accept Paypal from Security Key users.

You'd be limiting yourself a lot if you only dealt with people using one of these Security Key gadgets.

Maybe a better security feature would be an option to limit transactions to people with strong passwords. :lol: :lol:

that's weird, I successfully just ordered one. Paypal charged $5 under "GlobalWare Solutions Security Key". Maybe it's US only.

I got one of those cool keychains for free with my internet online banking account at HSBC Philippines. I've been wondering how it works. It always has given me the correct security code for my bank account login. I wouldn't actually take it out of the house though. Or leave in reach of the kids or the dog.

Hmm, I don't know. I would call PP and ask a rep. I'm sure they would know.

I just ordered mine... For reals. It said it would be at my house within 10 days. I wonder why some people can't order it? I guess it is only a US, or verified account thing for now... I'm not sure.

I wish they would go ahead and make it global and start marketing it to use on other sites.
