I bought the name NBA2k6.com on eBay about a month ago for $50.. Truely a steal as it is the offical name of the NBA video game on Xbox, PS2 and Xbox 360.. No Abervations-- that is the real name.. I was hoping to sell it to 2ksports but they said they don't make indiviudal names for their sports games has it changes every year, but they offered me the rights to develop it using all content etc-- without having trademark issues, legal issues etc + A link on their site stating it is the offical fansite... Up to now I have just put a shitty splash page with a few keywords and google ads.. It has paid decently well as their are many type ins per day.. Here are this month's stats

AdSense for content 1,636 $214.69


Do you think I should keep it the way it is going? Or develop a site, and load it with google ads?

I am unsure if the results will be as great on the google ads if their is an actaul site.. I dunno you tell me

I would definately add more content than just a splash screen.

With only the welcome screen your traffic will settle but if you update the site regulary its visits will progressively increase. More visits, more clicks, more income.

I wouldnt create one of those big portals with lots of info but maybe something you can easily update. If you prefer not to add dynamic content you really should put more adsense blocks and a little of static content to get a nice amount of targetted ads.

Adsense is doing a bit more this month Most be due to the XBOX 360 release of the game!

That could make you some good money for at least a little while if you did it right. Make it good enough and you'll still get a trickle of traffic from gamers even after the new version is out next year.

I'd do a forum, like someone said, and any information you can find about this game. Become the authority on the game, SEO and promote the site and you're there. Definitely include stuff like cheat codes, reviews, and screenshots. Those are what I search for whenever I'm looking for game info (I only play every now & then, though.)

Wow, how do some people get so lucky. EA Sports offers you to conduct the official fan page of a hit game of theres. That is just amazing. I'd say turn it into a forum or something. You would have no problems over getting members and that is the hardest step.

Lord almighty! You have to be crazy not to create a site with approved content from the developers. A big forum dedicated to the game would bring in way more than the numbers you are currently seeing.
