Pay-per-download of .pdf

I have a potential client that is looking to set up a site to market his manuals that he has written. He would like to charge for them on a pay per download basis.

Basically, the user pays some money with a credit card and then they get a link to download the stuff.

I have no idea how to do this. Could someone point me in the right direction? Is there a good script out there already (I'm sure there is)? Are there any security considerations to worry about people bypassing the payement? How would I set that up?

This is what I am lookign for. Has anyone used any of these?

DLMan or Pay-Per Download Manager looks like the ones I would need becaue I need to accept credit cards, not only PAYPAL.
