PDF via SSL

Firstly I apologise is this is in the wrong Forum but when you read my question you'll probably appreciate my dilemma.

I want to create a pdf Order Form that users can either download and complete offline and then post/fax or alternatively complete online and email to us securely or send the information to us in a secure manner. Our web host provides a secure doc or cgi server facility.

Chuck, hi, my apologies.
I know how to create the pdf what defeats me is how a customer sends their order to me securely and how I access it from our own server.

Why do need to receive it electronically in PDF?? Surely you create a PDF for customer to print to fax/post and you have simple set of order fields (non-pdf) to receive info online??

I don't need to receive the form in pdf form but for simplicity I would like to present customers with the same form and then let them choose how they want to send the information

Yeah so make your online form mirror the hard copy pdf. (or vice versa)

present them with the online form and offer a link to download a carbon copy pdf from which they could send it to you by hand.

Seems pretty straightforward to me.
