I hope this will encourage some of you who are trying to sell names!

I opened my email this morning and found an offer of $750 for a name I own. The last time I heard from the individual was 2 1/2 months ago when we exchanged emails. I had initiated the first email suggesting the sale and we negotiated back and forth but no agreement. I knew the value of the name and I held firm. Sometimes it is good to stay firm and wait until you get your price.

A few months ago I negotiated the sale of another name. I made a firm offer to sell at $3500 and was determined not to sell for a lower price. I knew the value and it was a bargain at $3500. It took one month of wainting then I received an email that they would buy the name for that price.

It is a hard thing to do but patience helps a domain seller get their price.

It depends on each situation.

I always need cash flow and would rather sell a name for 20% less its market value than to wait more. I know I can reinvest that money much wiser, and that I can gain more than 20% reinvesting.

But I get your point too. Congrats on the sales.

many of my best sales were those that I waited a month or two for after the initial bid. Patience does pay off!
