What are the ads and disads of parking and pointing to a portfolio site.

I believe that ads of parking are:

*Demonstrating CTR/traffic for higher valuation
*Punters can click on a box saying the DN is for sale
*More revenue

I believe that ads of pointing to sales site:

*Increasing exposure of whole portfolio
*Avoiding potential TM infringement unless you have a domain like Seedo.com!
*Less time wasted on optimisation
*Especially useful for high traffic, low CTR domains - they're not clicking so might as will look at your blog/other domains
*May become increasingly relevant with new re google offering a choice about parked ads
*Some revenue from adsense ads on the portfolio site
*More sales?

What do you guys think?

I think this is a tricky one. I voted for parking. But it depends. I like parking for the revenue and the for sale link on the parked page. 95% of my domain inquiries come from these links compared 5% from the whois. I think it's better that the landing page is directly related to the domain. This can be done with a portfolio, but it's much more time-consuming to implement.

Thanks stub.

I am starting to point some of my domains to my portfolio.

I am getting good parking results but I think this will improve selling performance.

It really depends on the domain. If you've got a really great type-in name, a good parking company who knows what they're doing should be able to get you more money than you could get on your own. If it's not a fabulous name then going to your portfolio might make more sense. . or cents as the case may be.

It might do. It might be better if a domain go directly to the domains for sale page. Add your search on that page.

Does WordPress Domain Portfolio allow you to put domains into categories?

If you have the time, I'd really recommend setting up a blog related to domain names and including your portfolio as a link on it.

I've sold in excess of $20,000 worth of LLLL.coms through my 4 Letter Noob blog and would probably have sold alot more still if I was still trying to sell my remaining LLLL.coms...

I've recently set this up an am quite pleased with the blog.

No, not yet. I think it would be useful addition, imho. Its a great piece of software that allows bulk addition and a way of ordering domains acc to expiry date.
